At its meeting of 1 July 2008, the university’s Executive agreed to establish an
Education Committee with senior-level representation which would be responsible for theshaping of university strategy in relation to academic affairs. Executive further agreed, inrelation to validation proposals for new or significantly reworked programmes, that thestrategic processes should be separated from the operational processes and that the lattershould be carried out by a subgroup of the Education Committee rather than theCommittee itself.
The Education Committee is the first stage to bringing in new degrees. It also gives direction to DCU strategy to achieve DCU graduate attributes that employers are seeking.
