Phonelines are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00pm to 2:30am, so if you find yourself needing a chat, don't hesitate to call.

Niteline is a confidential and anonymous listening service that is run by students and for students from Trinity, University College Dublin (UCD),Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), National College of Art and Design (NCAD), National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Dublin City University (DCU) and their affiliate colleges.
Niteline is:

o Confidential: The contents of a call remain strictly between the caller and the volunteer they speak to.

o Anonymous: Callers are not required to give their names or any other identifying details.

o Non-judgmental: Volunteers completely provide an atmosphere that is free from moral judgements.

o Non-directive: Niteline volunteers will not ask you for information. We will work through things with you.

o Run by students for students: Niteline volunteers go through a rigorous screening and training programme (based on the Samaritans model) and run with the help of the College Counselling Services.
